Biography
Jacob Kenison, tenor, is known for his strong stage instincts and soaring, resonant high notes. He recently placed third in the 2025 NATS National Student Auditions (Advanced Classical) and has been a three-time MTNA National Finalist, placing third in the Young Artist category in 2023. Jacob recently participated as a Developing Singer in the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, studying in the studio of Daniel Belcher and performing under the direction of Elena Shaddow. He has studied for nearly a decade with Lawrence Gee, former Assistant Conductor of the New York City Opera.
Recent roles include Mr. Erlanson (covering Henrik) in A Little Night Music with Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, and chorus in Die Fledermaus with Lyrical Opera Theater. His upcoming engagements include Fenton in Verdi’s Falstaff, Monostatos in Mozart’s The Magic Flute, and chorus in Utah Opera’s Fidelio. Jacob has also performed roles in Kiss Me, Kate; A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder; Jekyll & Hyde; and Footloose. As an artist, Jacob strives to create performances that bring his audiences moments of beauty and respite from the world.
