About Me

Hi—I’m Jacob Kenison, a vocalist based in the Salt Lake Valley with a love for meaningful music and genuine connection.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been drawn to the power of live performance. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of performing in musicals and operas across the Salt Lake Valley, and I continue to pursue both classical and contemporary repertoire. Whether I’m singing a golden-age standard, a heartfelt ballad, or an aria, I love creating moments that feel personal and alive.

I’ve studied voice for over eight years with Lawrence Gee, former assistant conductor at the New York City Opera—and I’m still learning from him today. I also recently trained at the Hawaii Performing Arts Festival, where I worked with Broadway performers, Metropolitan Opera singers, and top-tier university faculty. These experiences have shaped not only my technique but my musical storytelling as well.

Competitively, I’ve placed as a finalist and top award-winner in both the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) and Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) competitions at the national level, with a focus on classical vocal performance. I bring the same attention to detail and love for excellence into every event I sing.

I’m also a friendly, down-to-earth person who values professionalism, clear communication, and bringing a relaxed but polished energy to every space I walk into. Whether I’m performing at a wedding, gala, holiday event, or intimate dinner party, my goal is always the same: to help people feel something real through music.

If that’s the kind of experience you’re looking for—I’d love to work with you.
